CANCER: THE PROCESS MOST PEOPLE NEVER LEARN ABOUT
For more than fifty years, cancer research has focused on killing tumors rather than changing the conditions that allow them to exist. Cancer is a biological process that begins quietly and grows when its environment supports it.
HOW CANCER BEGINS: THE STAGE OF INITIATION
Cancer starts when something damages the DNA of a normal cell. Damage can come from chemical toxins, radiation, chronic inflammation, or metabolic stress. When repair systems fail or are overwhelmed, a cell may begin dividing abnormally. This is initiation. Tobacco smoke, alcohol, certain pesticides, heavy metals, benzene, formaldehyde, PFAS, burnt foods, nitrates in processed meats, and some mold toxins are named as possible initiators. Initiation alone does not guarantee a tumor: the body can destroy or repair damaged cells. Cancer develops when conditions continually feed initiated cells.
HOW CANCER GROWS: THE STAGE OF PROMOTION
Promotion determines whether an initiated cell remains dormant, dies, or becomes active cancer. Promoters do not necessarily damage DNA; they change the body’s environment through inflammation, hormonal imbalance, poor oxygenation, or nutrient depletion so abnormal cells thrive.
Common Cancer Promoters
Dietary promoters include high sugar intake, refined carbohydrates, industrial seed oils, processed foods, and trans fats. Lifestyle promoters include chronic alcohol use, sleep deprivation, inactivity, and persistent stress. Environmental promoters include air pollution, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and toxins. Physiological promoters include obesity, insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and hormone imbalance.
THE EMOTIONAL DIMENSION
Chronic fear, resentment, or grief can keep the body in a defensive state, raising cortisol and inflammatory chemicals. Over time this may suppress immune function and reduce natural-killer-cell activity. Practices including meditation, forgiveness, honest expression, community support, and purposeful living can support a healthier stress response.
THE THREE STATES OF CANCER
- Growing: the internal environment supports expansion and spread.
- Stagnant: abnormal cells are contained or dormant.
- Regressing: immune and repair mechanisms are prevailing and cancer cells are dying.
The dominant state depends on the body’s terrain: chemistry, oxygenation, nutrition, and emotional balance.
THE PATH TO HEALING
Reduce initiators by minimizing exposure to pesticides, plastics, alcohol, air pollution, and processed chemicals. Eliminate promoters by stabilizing blood sugar, avoiding processed oils, limiting alcohol, getting adequate sleep, moving daily, and practicing stress management. Support health with whole nutrient-dense foods, hydration, sunlight for vitamin D, deep breathing, and a routine that cultivates peace, purpose, and community. The Emotion Link approach is described as a way to uncover patterns and beliefs that keep stress locked in the body.
THE CORE MESSAGE
Cancer is presented here as more than a genetic accident: conditions inside and around us may contribute either to regeneration or degeneration. Removing initiators, avoiding promoters, and nurturing emotional and physical balance can help shift the body toward healing. The article emphasizes that changing emotional patterns behind choices can support healthier habits.
